Harriet Parker deservedly won our latest 'Performance Of The Weekend Award' after her quite incredible innings at Etwall on Sunday for our 4th team.
With the teams top order blown away by the opening bowler, Harriet, in at number 7 came to the crease in the 9th over, and batted the rest of the entire innings to lead the team to a commendable draw, facing 84 balls in the process!
Harriet was well supported by some of our junior players, Sahil Avasthy and Connor O'Neal, whilst Brandon Harvey also withstood the home bowling onslaught to see us home.
Harriet also notched her highest score in senior cricket and took 2 wickets earlier in the game, to round of an outstanding individual performance to help the team leave with a healthy 7 points.
So good was the innings, Harriet even received a guard of honour from our opponents as she left the field!
Sahil, who faced 43 balls, was also nominated for the award - in just his 3rd senior league game, and came second for the award, whilst Dylan Barnes, playing his first game of the season made a superb 47 not out for the 3s, and picked up a couple of wickets, was also nominated, as was our overseas player Jack Loram, who bowled impressively over the weekend - taking 3/43 against Cutthorpe on Sunday in a cup game game.
Well done, Harriet, everyone who was nominated, and everyone else who continues to work hard for our teams, week-in and week-out - The Cricket Committee appreciates each and every one of you who make yourselves available every week, and give your all for the club!
