Akhil Avasthy has won our latest 'Performance of the Weekend' award, after leading the way in the second teams victory over Etwall at the weekend, to halt a run of 5 successive league defeats.

Chasing 141 to win, Sawley held on for a much needed victory, by 4 wickets with almost 5 overs to spare.
Batting at the top of the order, Aki, who was also standing in as captain with Kieran Hopkins promoted to the first team, made an unbeaten 42 off 122 balls to ensure Sawley took home the 22 points - a vital innings given the circumstances of the game and league standings.

Also in contention over the weekend were; Mo Butt who made a rare but welcomed appearance in our 4th team. He took tremendous figures of 4/20, claimed 2 catches and was unbeaten on 21 in an all-action display, which ran Akhil very close to the award - well done Mo, and hopefully we'll see a bit more of you this season! - Chloe Lamb, who came back strong on Sunday in the 4th team cup game, taking 3 excellent wickets and bowling superbly; and Jason Edgar, who bowled impressively for the 3rd team at Victory CC on Saturday, taking 3 wickets.

Well done to all the nominees from the weekend!
