Our latest 'Performance of the Weekend' winner has been chosen, with first team skipper Jimmy Lawton coming out on top - thanks to a wonderful performance at Rolleston on Saturday.
Jimmy hit a superb 91 - his 3rd highest Sawley senior score to help our first team, post a commanding 275/7, then followed that up by finishing with bowling figures of 6/41 - his 5th best Sawley figures and also the best figures to date in the 2026 DCCL Division 1, as we edged out the hosts by 27 runs.
As usual, there were plenty of other individual performances which caught the eye of the committee, with a highly commendable innings from Jason Edgar in the 4th team - hitting a best ever score of 40 not out to lead the side to a 5-wicket victory over Kirk Langley on West Park, high on the list.
Other batting nominees included Matt Lyas, who made 51 for the 3s at Melbourne, Charlie Dawson who looked outstanding at the end of the 2s innings - making an unbeaten 41, and Luke Marriott, who made 80 for the first team.
Harriet Parker, who returned tremendous figures of 6 overs, 4 maidens, 2 wickets for 7 runs for the 4th team was also a nomination.
Well done to everyone who played over the weekend as the club continue to show both strong team and individual displays.
