Congratulations to first team player Luke Marriott who has been given the honours of our first 'Performance Of The Weekend Award', following his fine unbeaten 108 which led the first team to an opening day victory.

Joining the action with the team stuttering, Marriott faced 108 balls to hit his first Sawley century, eventually finishing on 108 from 116 balls.

In a strong weekend of individual performances, Jacob Taylor, who made a stirring 50 not out, alongside Marriott, Jack Loram, on home debut picking up 4/27 including a hat-trick - and also 4 wickets in just 8 balls and Matt Deyzel picking up a 5fer were all nominated from the first team.

Elsewhere, juniors Nathan Hardy who had an excellent 2nd XI league debut, hitting 32 and taking 2 wickets, Oliver Gadsby producing an incredible 4/11 from just 23 balls in his first 3rd team game since 2024, and Chloe Lamb who produced best ever figures of 3/25 in the 4th team, having also bowled the most overs in a game (8) than any innings previous - were all nominated by their captains.

Well done to everyone who contributed to an excellent day of cricket over the weekend, and congratulations to Luke, who receives a bar voucher to spend at the club.
