We are delighted to announce we have appointed a new 'Women and Girls Cricket Officer.'
Harriet Parker, one of our leading female cricketers, has taken on this role, which runs in line with our renewed attempts to relaunch our Sawley female section.
The Club MUST have a girls team playing games in 2026, otherwise our first team WILL be relegated, and we have a series of plans in the pipeline to ensure Sawley CC not only meet this criteria, but that we have a thriving girls section set up to offer girls and women's cricketers an opportunity to play for generations to come.
Harriet is a huge advocate of promoting and pushing female cricket. Having played through our junior section and progressed into the senior ranks, establishing herself as a highly respected senior cricketer at the club, already amassing almost 50 senior appearances.
Harriet has joined our Junior Committee and has been at the forefront of planning our girls cricketing section, already attending league meetings.
We thank Harriet for stepping into this role and the enthusiasm she has showed in not only helping the club, but helping shape the future of female cricketers at the club.
We will be announcing details of an all female open training session very soon.
We're sure you will all join us in welcoming Harriet to her new role #SuperSawley
