We have our first winner of the 'Last Person Standing competition 2025-26!'

A huge congratulations to Linda Freeman who bagged a Christmas bonus of £205, after our first game went to a rollover.

Linda correctly predicted 8 successive Premier League victories, culminating in Fulham's 3-2 success at Burnley on Saturday, though she would have been biting her finger nails with 2 other competitors still in the hunt, pushing her all the way! Commiserations to Achil Avasthy, with Manchester United scoring 4 but unable to win, and to Monique Underwood who's Brentford pick were unable to hold onto their slender lead against Leeds on Sunday.

As ever, Sawley Cricket Club also benefit to the tune of £205 which go into the operating costs of the club.

Thank you to Louise Lawton who has taken on the mantle of 'The Governor' in running this competition which continues to raise vital funds for our club.

'Lou' is not messing around, and has ruled the new game will start immediately!

Therefore, please be ready, by 6pm on Friday with your picks for our latest LPS game.

Entry costs just £5 per player.

Finally, please try to get involved in this and as many of our club offerings as you possibly can. It has always been a gripe from the Committee at the lack of Club members who take part in competitions such as 'LPS', relying on non-members to bulk up the numbers participating.
For those who came to the AGM last month, you may recall; "The Committee commented they would not raise membership costs and match subs providing the membership buy into what we are trying to do" - which includes participating in competitions such as Last Person Standing.
