13 Aug by Richard Gadsby

On Sunday 24 August, our club will be hosting a Charity Day in support of two causes close to our hearts – Prostate Cancer UK and mental health charity Mind.

From 1:00 pm until late, we’ll have:
🏏 A charity cricket match
🎈 Children’s activities (including a bouncy castle)
πŸ” Hot food and the bar open
🎀 Evening entertainment from crowd favourite Lex Icon

It’s a fantastic chance for our cricketing and local community to come together, raise money, and enjoy a great day in each other’s company.

But… we can’t do it alone!

Whilst the day officially begins at 1pm, preparations and setting up will start well before that!

Charles Baines will be setting up the marquee on the Saturday morning, and a handful of helpers will be required to efficiently erect that.

Whilst on the day itself, members of the Management Committee will be setting up from 10:00 am, and we need volunteers to help the day run smoothly. We’re looking for people to:

Serve behind the bar (for those confident with bar service)

Help restock the bar

Supervise the children’s bouncy castle

Empty bins and keep the site tidy

We also require helpers on the Cricketing-side; Scorers and Umpiring to help ensure the Charity match runs as equally as smoothly as the rest of the days entertainment.

And, Thanks to West Park Leisure Centre, we have a large number of extra seats available, but will require extra pairs of hands to help move them and set them up at the start of the day and later on putting them away safely, ready to head back home over to the Leisure Centre.

We’re not asking for a huge commitment – just an hour of your time (or even less) would make a big difference.

If you can help, please contact Sarah Lyle on 07813 845024 (WhatsApp)

Your support – whether you’re a player, social member, or parent – will help make this day a real success for two amazing charities.

Thank you in advance for pitching in and showing the community spirit our club is known for!
