Along with the recent funding acquired for the purchase of our new covers on our Main Pitch, the Committee, headed by our Grant Officer Kate Woodward, have been busy looking at more ways to acquire additional support to help fund the cost of more equipment.
Kateβs brilliant work has enabled us to purchase a rope trolley, which has been in use in recent weeks at The Graham Draycott Pavilion, and this has already been welcomed by our players in the 3rd and 4th team.
Below is the Press Release, passing on our thanks to The East Midlands Airport Community Fund, which the funding has come fromβ¦
βWeβre thrilled to announce that Sawley Cricket Club has secured funding from the East Midlands Airport Community Fund, helping us improve facilities and expand opportunities for players of all ages. This is a huge step forward for our club, supporting junior cricket, welcoming more players, and launching our very own womenβs team!
βThis funding will make a big difference,β said Michael Hopkins, Chairman of Sawley Cricket Club. βBetter facilities mean more opportunities for players of all ages, and weβre especially excited about finally giving female cricketers a chance to stay with the club rather than having to join other clubs.β
With the support from the East Midlands Airport Community Fund, we have purchased a new boundary rope trolley for the Graham Draycott Pavilion. The new rope trolley will allow players of all ages to set up for games easily and safely.
Sawley Cricket Club has been bringing cricket to the community since 1834, and with over 50 senior players, 40 juniors, and a growing number of young Allstars, weβre committed to keeping the sport accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to all. The East Midlands Airport Community Fundβpart of the airportβs Corporate Social Responsibility strategyβprovides financial support to local groups, helping create lasting benefits in areas impacted by airport operations.
A huge thank you to East Midlands Airport for their support!"
Once again, Thank you to everyone involved behind the scenes at Sawley CC who have helped us acquire more vital funding for this.
