Over the close season, the Committee have been working hard to up our offering to all senior aged players (13 & over) in the way of Sunday games, to cope with the continued high demand for Cricket for our members.

We are pleased to confirm we now have 9 confirmed games for this season – to run alongside our 4 senior teams.
We had hoped for 10, but seem to have exhausted our options, for now.

The confirmed games for 2025 are;

11th May H v Attenborough
8th June H v Awsworth
22nd June H v Revesby (Lincolnshire Touring Team)
6th July H v Risley
13th July A v Attenborough
27th July H v Darley Abbey
3rd August A v Risley
10th August A v Awsworth
17th August H v Jolly Sailor

Games are of various lengths from T20 to 30 & 35 over games, with start times around 1pm – some are yet to be agreed.

Should someone be interested in Captaining the team, and be available for a number of these games, please contact Gary Birley as soon as possible. We understand that it is unlikely 1 person would be available to run every game, but if you would like to be considered for a ‘few’ as Captain – please reach out.

Captain’s would be expected to run the side on the day, and have a hand in organising the team in the build up, but would have help in acquiring players beforehand, and for home games, able to arrive early to organise the setting up.

Finally, if players are asked to play in these games, often as an alternative to a Saturday, please take this seriously. It will be a mixture of experience and total inexperience, so any senior player could play an important role for the club.

With the first games just a little over a week away, it already looks like a number of players will not be selected, due to such good availability throughout – Already emphasising the importance of growing our Sunday team in 2025 and beyond.
