It has been reported to the Committee that a number of members have received emails claiming to be from a member of Sawley CC.

Please do NOT engage in these emails and delete them.

Examples we have had reported are from Mr Michael Hopkins and today from Mr Ken Lawton; To repeat these are not from Sawley CC – please delete them and do not respond.

Members have also reported phone calls and text messages from unknown numbers – more so than ordinarily – whilst we are unable to say these are related or not, again please be vigilant.

At this moment we are unsure how any information has been accessed, though we suspect a members email may have been hacked, providing further email addresses which have been targeted. We don’t believe any personal information has been accessed, other than email addresses.

If you are unsure about any communications via email or text message which claim to be from Sawley CC or any of our membership – please get in touch with a member of the committee directly.

Please be vigilant and do NOT give out any personal information.
