Many of you who have been attending our training sessions at Chellaston so far, would have seen a new face wandering around the sports hall…

Liam Roarty is an Excercise & Sports Psychologist in training, and has been chatting to many of our members over the past few weeks.
Liam has joined the Club in an advisory role ahead of the 2025 Cricket Season, and we are delighted to welcome to welcome him on board.

He has asked us to issue the following welcoming post on his behalf…

β€œHi everyone,
My name is Liam. I am from Dublin and moved to Long Eaton from Newcastle last August. I am training to become a Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS).

I am delighted to be part of Sawley Cricket Club. I want to particularly thank Clive, Gary, Mick, Kieran and Charles, along with the rest of The Committee, for allowing me to join the club. Also, I want to thank all the club members who have been very welcoming since I started coming to the indoor sessions.

Cricket is a new sport for me so, I am keen to learn more about it. I have always been interested in learning the sport; watching cricket highlights on Sky Sports News. I volunteered as a Mental Skills Coach in a cricket academy in St Lucia in 2022, which was an incredible experience. I am excited for the challenge ahead with Sawley CC, not only to develop my consultancy skills but also, to learn and participate in the sport for the club.

I will be providing my services to all teams in the club. Also, I am offering 1-1 consultations to all members if anyone is interested in developing their knowledge and skills, which can be used in everyday life.

If you want more information about my services, I have provided my contact details on the poster [attached].

Thank you.
Liam"

Welcome to the Club, Liam πŸ™Œ
