Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out our recent short surveys – your feedback has helped us look at ways we can improve the running of our Club.
Having pulled all the results, suggestions and recommendations together, Bo Davis & Charles Baines have put an initial statement together, outlining areas we will be looking to act upon – some with immediate effect.
*Please read – there are some details of upcoming events, not yet advertised – so you can read them here first!
Statement;
Hi everyone,
Thank you all so much for filling out the surveys! It has been so helpful to hear everyone’s opinions and the club will really benefit from all the results.
This is a message to outline the plans for the club in the upcoming year (or the following years where time permits) as a result of your feedback.
On the whole, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. However, there are of course areas to improve on which we have addressed below.
Facilities:
We understand the pitches require some and are working hard on improving the pitches. A lot of this comes down to volunteers. We will hopefully be making big improvements on the pitches not just on the Bill Camm but also on the Graham Draycott
Secondly, we will be revamping the female changing facilities which will hopefully be a welcome improvement for our female members.
Our wider plans for the future will be to extend the Bill Camm Pavilion. This, of course, will be no small task! In the meantime, both the Bill Camm and Graham Draycott will receive a freshen up. This will hopefully make them well prepared for our upcoming social calendar!
Training:
We had very helpful and constructive feedback regarding training. We will be organising fielding sessions for anyone who would like to attend (dates will be confirmed nearer the time). There will be an indoor session for our Juniors and the Seniors will have the opportunity to attend an outdoor session during next season.
Selection:
In response to the playing members’ results, we would like to be able to select and announce a provisional team (subject to injuries and unforeseen circumstances). However, this is only feasible if all players give clear availability as early as possible. We will be encouraging all players to be as organised as possible with notifying their captains about availability (of course we understand things can change/ come up, but it helps if we can have a general idea).
Sunday games:
Sunday games will be making a comeback! We will be looking to organise as many Sunday games as we can during the 2025 season. These are a great opportunity for those don’t play on a Saturday as well as a chance for our up and coming juniors to progress!
Socials:
We are extremely grateful for all of the great ideas we have received!
Dates for the winter diary include:
- 1st November- Quiz and Curry Night
- 14th December- Sawley Christmas Party!
- Weekly- Poker night
More information and details on how to book tickets for these events will be available soon on the team app.
As we begin to plan for the Summer 2025 Season, we are already beginning to put together a social calendar with many events already planned. This will include singers, themed nights and the suggestions received in the survey responses.
Additionally, we will be investing in a pizza oven for the club. We hope this readily available food option will encourage our playing and social members to stay down for a bite to eat after games.
- We are looking for volunteers to make pizzas on Saturdays next year. (Please let us know if you would like to do this on any of the dates during the season and we will look to create a schedule).
As I’m sure you can all appreciate, all of the above is organised, worked on and/or ran by volunteers from Sawley CC. We greatly appreciate the hard work that so many of our members already put into our club as we simply would not run without it.
Off the back off that acknowledgement, it has been wonderful to hear from our survey responses that more people would love to have a more active role in the club. It is massively welcomed and appreciated!
If you would like to be involved in a more ‘hands-on’ way with any aspect of the club (whether it be social or facilities) please contact Charles Baines on 07871 228460, whether you come to us with an idea of how you specifically want to be involved or simply just to express that you would like to be, Charles will be able to discuss that with you.
There will be lots more fun and helpful information coming when the 2025 season nears. However, we wanted to acknowledge your survey responses, express our gratitude for your support and feedback and assure everyone of the action will be taking leading up to and during the 2025 season.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything else you think of, would like more information on, or if we can help in any other kind of way.
Thank you for your continued support #SuperSawley
